Module Description
This topic introduces the use of LabVIEW and National Instruments (NI) modules for developing virtual instrumentation, data acquisition, monitoring, and real-time control systems. Students gain hands-on experience in designing and implementing applications for industrial automation, renewable energy systems, and smart energy monitoring using modern NI hardware and software platforms.
Objectives and Learning Outcomes
- Understand the principles of virtual instrumentation and the role of LabVIEW in industrial and renewable energy applications.
- Develop LabVIEW-based programs for data acquisition, signal processing, monitoring, and control tasks.
- Interface NI modules with sensors, actuators, and industrial systems for real-time measurements and automation.
- Apply LabVIEW tools for monitoring and analysis of renewable energy systems, including PV, wind, and energy storage applications.
- Design simple automated measurement and control solutions for industrial and energy-related processes.
